Week Twenty Five

In this twenty fifth week of Phase 1, lessons will cover:

Aspect 1: Environmental Sounds.

Aspect 7: Oral Blending and Segmenting.

Children will practise orally blending and segmenting SATPIN words (that is, words made up of the letters S A T P I N such as 'pat'). They will play a game of Segmenting Sounds, segmenting the phonemes in the names of objects. In enhanced provision, the will play a game with a treasure box, orally blending and segmenting the names of the objects inside the box.

This phase 1 phonics planning is aligned with the order of teaching in the Letters and Sounds framework, and is packed full of easy to prepare teaching input and phase 1 phonics resources to help children make progress in phonics.
