Week Eighteen

In this eighteenth week of Phase 1, lessons will cover:

Aspect 1: Environmental Sounds

Aspect 4: Rhythm and Rhyme

Aspect 6: Voice Sounds

Children will listen to a recording of their voices and see if they can identify who is speaking. They will go on a sound walk, listening and making recordings.  They will also make a toy trumpet and practise making trumpeting noises. In enhanced provision, they will play a game of rhyming pairs.

This phase 1 phonics planning is aligned with the order of teaching in the Letters and Sounds framework, and is packed full of easy to prepare teaching input and phase 1 phonics resources to help children make progress in phonics.
