Week Twenty Three

In this twenty third week of Phase 1, lessons will cover:

Aspect 2: Instrumental Sounds.

Aspect 4: Rhythm and Rhyme.

Aspect 7: Oral Blending and Segmenting.

Children will learn and practise oral blending and segmenting skills during a game of Simon Says. They will also learn about rhythm by marching and following a beat. In enhanced provision they will use props to act out familiar nursery rhymes.

This phase 1 phonics planning is aligned with the order of teaching in the Letters and Sounds framework, and is packed full of easy to prepare teaching input and phase 1 phonics resources to help children make progress in phonics.
