Week Nine

In this ninth week of Phase 5, children will learn to say and recognise the alternative pronunciation for ey, as well as learn new phoneme /zh/.

In addition, children will consolidate all previously learnt phonic knowledge and practise reading and writing words that contain alternative graphemes (letters) for the same phoneme (sounds) and alternative phonemes (sounds) for the same grapheme (letters). They will continue to apply this knowledge in their reading and writing of sentences and embed their understanding of sentence structure.
