- Phase 2 and 3 sound cards.
- Phase 5 sound card: ay.
- Phase 5 digraph rhyme card: 'may I play'.
- Phase 5 decodable word cards (ay words only).
- High frequency words card: day.
- Paper or card cut into red and green circles (or whichever shape you like!), enough for each child to have one of each colour.
- Pencils for each child.
- Write the following questions on the board before the session (only reveal one at a time):
Is it May?
Can a stray cat play?
Can a crayon paint?
Is it raining today? - 'May I Play?' mini-book
- Phase 5 phonics extension sheet for today's GPC.
