Week Five

In the penultimate week of phase 2, children will learn to read and write the sounds: h, b, f/ff, l/ll and ss as well as recognising the tricky words, ‘no’, and ‘I’.

This week, we expand on the introduction of the first digraph ‘ck’ as the children learn three more. It can help to repeat the mantra ‘two letters, one sound’ as you teach these, so that children remember that while there are two letters, they only make a single sound.
