Supplies
- Phase 2 sound mat (letters only)
- Counters for each child.
- A cardboard box wrapped like a present with the letter ‘e’ on the front (make sure you can open the lid).
- 'e' letter formation rhyme sheets, these can be cut into 3 strips but you need 1 strip per child.
- Phase 2 set 4 phonics extension activity sheet for today's GPC.
- A selection of ‘e’ objects (or use the initial sound picture cards) to put inside the present. You could include:
An egg, an elephant, an elf, an envelope, an eskimo. - A selection of other objects beginning with alternative initial sounds (to include with those listed above).
- Whiteboards and dry- wipe pens for each child.
