Week 5

In this last week of Phase 4, learning will cover suffixes, including s/es, ed, ing, est and er. Although these are already decodable, they will help children whilst reading, and also link to the KS1 national expectations.

Handwriting resources

Help children form letters the correct way with our Letters and Sounds aligned handwriting resources.

Week 4

In this fourth week of Phase 4, children will continue to revise phase 2 and 3 phonemes and graphemes, as well as recognising, saying and reading and writing words with adjacent consonants. Children will also have a go at reading sentences with polysyllabic words.

Week 3

In this third week of Phase 4, children will continue revising phase 3 graphemes and phonemes and will start reading words with adjacent consonants. Children will work on the tricky words: were, there, little, one, they, all and are. They will also work on reading and making simple sentences.
